Alice's Coconut Cake

Ingredients

1 box Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Golden Cake

16 ounces sour cream, very cold

12 ounces coconut flakes, very cold

1 1/2 cups sugar

Description

Make this cake 2-3 days before serving!

Directions

Make cake mix, using butter as directed, in 2 layer pans. When cool, slice each layer in half, making 4 thin layers. May freeze layers at this point, and put cake together later.
FILLING: Have sour cream & coconut very cold. (Reserve a little coconut for garnish.) Combine in a bowl with sugar. Spread filling between layers and on top, allowing filling to ooze out between layers. Sprinkle top with reserved coconut.
Place toothpicks around top of cake and cover lightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate several days before serving.
